Lancets
A lancet can be used to work in molding sand.
The different sizes are used, for example, to create air channels or to freely shape sand.
The lancets are forged, ground, and made of stainless steel, making them robust and durable.
We differentiate between:
- Scoop lancets
- Spoon lancets

The Lancet
Volker Allexi and his brother demonstrate how to properly design the sprue. First, the pattern wood is removed from the cope and a sprue is created. The loose sand is pressed down by hand.
The lancet is used to create vents at the extreme points all the way to the edge of the mold box.
The loose sand is also pressed down with the lancet and the mold is smoothed.
The different lancets are therefore suitable for all applications.

What is a lancet?
In foundry technology, the term "lancet" refers to a tool specifically used for working with sand molds.
It is used to smooth and polish the inner surfaces of the molds and to make adjustments if necessary.
The lancet consists of a rod-shaped handle with flat, spatula- or spoon-shaped working surfaces attached to both ends.
What material are the lancets made of?
Our lancets are forged from stainless steel.
This makes them very robust and won't rust even after extended storage.
Their special shape makes them very comfortable to hold.
What is a lancet used for?
oThis tool is used manually to level out unevenness in the sand mold and improve the surface quality.
In the production of sand molds that are destroyed after casting ("lost sand molds"), the lancet is used to correct small errors or to add additional mold elements, such as a pouring funnel.
Lancets are also very well suited for freeforming.
