  hand-forged, selectively hardened, twice tempered, ground on the fin and face, with ash handle.   A quality product from the Balbach Damascus forge.   The hammers are individually free-form forged without a die and made from high-quality tool steel. Selective hardening keeps the shell soft, and the ergonomic shape, combined with good weight distribution, allows for less tiring forging. The hammers are tempered twice and then finely ground on the fin and face. He was not only a great blacksmith and designer also he was a "world traveler" in the interest of blacksmithing. He gave coursest on almost every continent and set fire to the modern metal design and  young people.   Alfred Habermann had a wealth of experience in the artisanal production of perfect forging tools. He analyzed the requirements for the tool and the conditions of the human body. This resulted in a series of ergonomically optimized and functional tools, which we manufacture and sell exclusively in small batches.

  DIN 660, Steel RSt 36-2 Shank diameter #Varinfo shank length   Some projects require only a few rivets, and not everyone has enough workshop space to keep a whole pack on the shelf for that "just-in-case" scenario...   That is why we are now selling round-head rivets individually. Sizes not listed here are currently not available for individual sale.     Note on the designation: The first number indicates the shank diameter, the second the shank length (excluding the head height!). For example, a rivet DIN 660 - 5 x 10 has a shank diameter of 5 mm and a shank length of 10 mm. The total length of the rivet in this case is 13 mm.
