The five contact wheels are brought into position by simply actuating an index knob and rotating in seconds to the desired position. The wheel diameters are 25mm, 38mm, 50mm, 89mm and 203mm. All guards swivel out of position for easy access. The various radii can be easily and quickly brought into the optimal working position with a quick clamp. In addition, the machine can be adjusted in several stages between horizontal and vertical alignment in just a few simple steps. Speed control for Radius Master 400V -
contains: - Frequency converter - Connection cable 2 m including plug - shielded cable 2 m Mounted and parameterized ready to plug in - "Plug and Play" With this set you can turn the three-phase Radiusmaster (400V/3-ph) into a speed-adjustable belt sander. Enables delicate, precise and slow grinding, sharpening or polishing of knives or other workpieces. Advantages: adjustable belt speed Belt speed approx. 3.6 to 19.2 m/s robust IP66 design Why THIS solution? The speed of an electric motor can be controlled with a frequency converter. This means that the speed of belt-grinder can be adapted to the current situation. Advantages of using an FU: Increasing energy efficiency (savings) Reduced wear of components Lower starting currents Frequency converter instead of speed controller: A frequency converter changes the frequency of the current and thus the speed of the rotating field - ideal for speed control. The technically clean solution ensures lower power consumption. A simple “dimmer” for incandescent lamps is often used as an inexpensive speed controller. These “dimmers” do nothing other than not allowing a certain part of the sine curve to pass through. “Dimmers” cut the phase on or off. There is a lot of slip and the speed fluctuates greatly. With this method, the overall efficiency drops significantly and almost as much electricity is required as in nominal operation. Furthermore, the engine will wear out more quickly. Available in 2 variants for 230V/1ph or 400V/3-ph input voltage. Not suitable for Radiusmaster 230V/1-ph.

What should I look for in sanding belts?

There is a wide range of manufacturers and belt types available. The "joint"—or the way the belt is connected—is also crucial for smooth operation and durability.
We focus on two renowned manufacturers:
- VSM – Universal belts (good stock removal and service life with a fine finish)
- 3M – Cubitron II and Cubitron III (ceramic belts with extreme stock removal and long service life)
Belts with grit sizes 40–80 feature a very robust overlapping joint. Belts with grit sizes of 80 and above use a butt joint, ensuring smooth, bump-free operation.
