Buy blacksmith coal and coke?
You can buy blacksmith coal of the highest quality from us.
We regularly inspect our goods to ensure consistent quality and avoid fluctuations.
How do I recognize good coal?
High-quality blacksmith coal ignites well, burns cleanly, and leaves little slag.
"Cheap" coal often has a high dust content and is rather crumbly.
This leads to heavy sooting of the fire, a lot of slag remaining, and insufficient heat development.
Coke or coal?
Forging coke largely removes the volatile components (=coked).
It contains hardly any sulfur, so coke smells and smokes less than coal.
The disadvantage is that coking is an additional process step in production, making coke more expensive than coal.
Firing coke is more difficult than coal, and more air is required, but it generates more and more concentrated heat than coal.
As you can see, there is no right or wrong, and it depends on various factors...
